PTSA Scholarship Application

Application DEADLINE EXTENDED to March 17, 2021

Riverwood PTSA Scholarship Application

The Riverwood PTSA is offering 10 scholarships in the amount of $1,500. The scholarships will be awarded to 10 well-rounded students in the 2021 Riverwood Graduating Class. Selection is based on several factors including academic achievement, leadership ability, motivation, and character. The applicant or parent must be a current Riverwood PTSA member. However, the application and selection process are handled completely confidentiality within a Riverwood Selection Committee with no involvement by the PTSA.

Applicants must request one teacher to complete the attached form along with a brief letter of recommendation addressing the applicant’s interests, academic goals, college potential and personal motivation. While no specific GPA is required, candidates must be in good academic standing and their scholastic history should verify the ability to succeed in a two-year, four-year, or technical college or university. Additionally, the applicant must submit the essay responding to the prompt at the end of this application.

If selected, the $1,500 scholarship will be paid directly to the college or university to go towards tuition, room & board and/or any other required fees or expenses. The scholarship recipient must notify Mrs. Garber of the one college or university the student has selected to attend and verify the college acceptance and submission of required college deposit before May 15, 2021.

The scholarship application forms are available on Naviance and the Riverwood Counseling Center Scholarship Page

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit the complete application including teacher recommendation and essay to Roxie Garber, garber@fultonschools.org, by Thursday, March 11, 2021.
